Much to my regret, I ordered the Risk Free Trial* on 9/17/09 from Smoking Everywhere on this website, which appears to be shut down some days, www.ifreetrial.com, I canceled the order 10/9/09, then they billed me $99.09 on 10/14/09, order shipped 10/20/09, dispute begun 11/3/09 with credit card company for the $99.02 charge. They continue to change that website, it used to say "Money Back Guarantee" but I notice that part is gone today. The "terms and conditions" state there is NO money back guarantee, even though it did state "Money back Gurarantee" on their home page in the past. At least they did change that. Read their "terms and conditions" to see what they are actually trying, and don't fall for it, bunch of jerks they are, taking people's money as fast as they can. I am STILL trying to get my initial $9.95 back! I will, but it's not easy. |

I hesistate to call this a scam, but I'm not happy. They do have a "Terms and Conditions" page if you notice the link of faded small text at the bottom of the page. I didn't notice it, much to my regret. Here's a short history of Smoking Everywhere charging $108.97 on my credit card for their "Risk Free Trial*".
Order made Sept 17, 2009, Smoking Everywhere replied Sept 18:
Thank you for placing your order with Smoking Everywhere!
I emailed them Sept 27, ten days later:
Smoking Everywhere support emailed me back Sept 28:
Dear customer
I waited a normal week, 9 days, and canceled 10/9/09: On 10/14/09 they charged my credit card $99.02 On 10/20/09 they shipped my order, and my Risk Free Trial period began, according to the email they sent me on 9/28/09. See a large copy of the invoice that shows a shipping date of 10/20/09 and a "Balance Due" of 99.02, which they had already charged to my credit card on 10/14/09. If you hold your mouse over the picture an expansion button in the lower right will allow you to enlarge the picture. On 11/3 I started a dispute with my credit card company, as my $99.02 refund had not been credited. On 11/20/09 I had this conversation with the billing dept of Smoking Everywhere. (click on "this conversation" to hear this conversation). I cut out most of the time when I was put on hold, much more than the time spent talking with them. Jennifer then said that I was in the "queue" for a refund, but they said that two weeks ago. Must be a long queue. 11/20 09 The dispute continues, I must mail the terms and conditions again, proof that I canceled the order, the invoice, etc. to the credit card company, so I did, mailed it on 11/21/09. I also called them and talked to Terry, and we agreed that I would both fax AND mail it to them, so we did. 11/21/09 The plot thickens! Today I received an email from Smoking Everywhere! Here it is: Smoking Everywhere Electronic Cigarette FREE 14 day Trial Offer Refund. So I called my credit card company today, the 23rd. I was told there was no credit appearing, however, they did find two NEW charges from Smoking Everywhere, on for $9.95 and one for $99.02! On November 12, 2009. I don't think this is a very great company. Could be a mistake here, as I changed my credit card number back on November 3rd and specifically asked them NOT to allow further charges from Smoking Everywhere! Must be a mistake somewhere. 11/24 It was a mistake, there are no additional charges in November. I emailed Smoking Everywhere in an attempt to get the $9.95 shipping charge back. A nice lady named Diane told me it could take 24 to 72 business hours. I replied to her that it would be nice to return my money, and I would like to have it back. I feel a bit picky, and I WOULD like to just forget about the $9.95. After all, they DO state plainly in their terms and conditions that the shipping and handling charge is not refundable. I wish I had read that before I ordered. But I've already had to spend hours on the phone, and file a dispute, and fax and mail documents to my credit card company. All this time wasted, I have plenty of other things I need to do, and I can't just desert the other people they are ripping off. 11/25 I called my credit card company, and now they report that I HAVE RECEIVED a credit for $99.09, great! Now I must try to get the additional $9.95 that Smoking Everywhere charged me. Have that dispute correct with my credit card company, now I'll call Smoking Everywhere, 1 800 613 0337. Smoking Everywhere did answer, and I selected #3, Customer Service. Luckily I recorded the mess that followed so you could listen to it. It was interesting, as soon as I told them I wanted my $9.95 back, they would transfer my call. Then they would claim they couldn't hear me, and again I was transferred. I started asking if they could hear me first, and they would say yes, but as soon as I asked for a refund they could no longer hear me and would transfer me again. Round and round I went, but eventually they transferred me back to "Christian" who didn't bother to transfer me, he just hung up. Not exactly what I would describe as Customer Service, lol. My wife thinks I should call them tomorrow, but that's Thanksgiving, think they'll be open? I'm using up my cell phone minutes, but I think I have a few left. Will I get my $9.95 for Shipping and Handling back? Apparantly many people have got theirs back, if you seach with Google for "Smoking Everywhere Scam" and do some reading you can find SOME people who claim they got a refund. 12/05/09 I got a letter from my credit card company saying that I had receied the $99.02 credit! Hooray, less than two months after Smoking Everywhere had charged it. 9 days less than two months, they had my $99.02. Now, will I ever get back the $9.95 they charged me on 9/28/09? Don't hold you're breath. 1/14/09 True, I have little hope of Smoking Everywhere giving me back the $9.95 non refundable shipping charge, but I WILL get the money back. Perhaps not from them directly, but I've made $2.85 from this explanation page alone. I'm making this page to help other people NOT lose money from similar internet websites. |
