Charlie invited me to crew for him for Saturday at the Austin Yacht Club Spring Regatta on his J/24. Jacket weather at first but once across the starting line it warmed up nicely. 7 classes raced from near AYC up the lake to Lakeway, I'd guess 10 miles, for race one. Then we raced back for race two.
Ray Schull in his J/29 before the start of the first race, which he won. He took 2nd in the 2nd race for a score of 3 for the day in the J/29 class.

Here Charlie is giving us hints on how to do something. The hat is the foreground was Jody's 1st place hat from the 2004 Texas Centerboard Circuit. It blew off before the races, and we retrieved it. But when the genoa knocked it off midway through the 2nd race we lost it!
