This is a 2001 Escape Playcat catamaran with roto-molded, practically indestructible hulls.
This boat was purchased new in 2005 and has been sailed only a handful of times.
The mainsheet and downhaul are the only lines to worry about when sailing
Rudders don't extend below the keel, to prevent damage
Always stored inside over the winter and protected from the sun with a tarp in the summer.
It is stable and fast, and can carry three big-bodied guys easily. It was faster than a windsurfer on a day blowing 25 knots and we were going in circles around a cabin boat.
The hulls are in excellent condition, as well as the gear.
Comes with a Mylar mainsail that is in excellent shape (Doesn't use a boom). Has a two-piece mast with a Hobie-Bob float to prevent turtling.
The boat comes with a 2005 trailer with carpeted 2x6 wooden bunks.
Only negative I'm aware of is that a small piece of the cup on the mast base broke off. It is used to lock the mast to the ball on the crossbeam while raising the mast. It still can be raised and rotates (ball in cup) as it should. This does not affect sailing.
