1988 Freedom 28 #40
Builder: Freedom Yachts / Tillotson Pearson, Inc.
Dimensions
LOA: 28'
LWL: 23'3"
Beam: 10'3"
Draft: 4'6"
Displacement: 6500 lbs.
The Freedom 28 employs the Tillotson Pearson high tech, low maintenance carbon fiber mast with the ability to carry a spinnaker from its unstayed fractional rig. It does not require shroud lines or backstays, so moving around on deck is easy and safe underway or at the dock. The self-tending camber-spar jib makes for quick and easy tacking. With fin keel and spade rudder, she is very responsive to steering.
This clean, well maintained boat has been kept on Lake Travis near Austin, TX. Fun to sail and great for single-handed sailing or limited crew. Easy access in and out of water with stern ladder. Perfect family swim platform when anchored in one of the many creeks and coves off of Lake Travis.
The Freedom 28 has about the largest interior possible in a 28 footer. Beautiful teak trim all around interior. Spacious main cabin, with keel-stepped mast location out of the way in forward berth. Enclosed head features hot water shower using engine heat exchanger or shore power and good pressure to all taps with electric water pump.
This price includes a 15' Perception Syncro tandem sit-on-top kayak (with padded seat backs and paddles) that fits on port side deck. Price also includes a fresh bottom job to be completed on haul-out for pre-purchase inspection.

David,
I sold my boat today. Well, it is supposed to be a happy day and I will get there at some point. At least it went fairly painlessly, since a demo sail last Friday and haul-out / closing today. The final sale price with the bottom job included was $21K in case that interests you. They did not want the kayak so I get to sell that somewhere else online. Please mark the Freedom 28 sold. Again, I really appreciate your help getting it out there where serious buyers could find it. I did not have any other ad sites or links to your site. The buyers are a nice sailing couple from about 40 miles west of Austin and were between boats, so this one caught their eye when they saw it on your site and they really liked it. They will get more use out of it that I have been able to do lately.
Thank you very much for your help!
Cheers,
Steve
