The Hunter 23.5 is one of the best Weekender sailors in this model class. Also, with the retractable keel, boat can be easily beached and sailed around bays without the worry of bottoming out. With the retractable keel system we have sailed the boat fully retracted, 45 degrees, and full down. Boat will take a 50+ degree heel and keep on sailing. With the water ballasted keel, the wind will blow off and we've never capsized even without reefing in 18-20 knot winds. Hunter built a tough boat and hardy sailor. My Brothers and I have sailed this boat all around Galveston Bay and the Clear Lake area, and will attest that this boat can bring you many years of sailing fun.
