J/80 #297 was commissioned new in February 2000 by New Orleans J Boat dealer Murray Yacht Sales. The owner set her up for short handed day sailing. In 2005 the boat lost her mast and incurred some hull scratches while afloat during the 2005 Hurricane season. The owner traded up for bigger boat. J Boat dealer Murray Yacht Sales oversaw a refit and sold the boat to her current owner in Tennessee. She has been day sailed and lightly sailed for the past two years.
