This is a famously excellent boat for pleasure sailing.
Known around the country as being highly forgiving with a roomy cockpit.
Stock races are held in Newport CA.
This particular boat (#2015) could use a little paint on the inside but other than that has delivered me hours of enjoyment and great sailing experiences.
Contoured bench seats run the full length of the cockpit
offers comfortable seating for up to six (6) adults but I have sailed often alone.
delightfully easy to learn in.
stable and spacious cockpit.
Hull- The hull is 100% hand laid up fiberglass. A high gloss gel coat is used. Stiffeners are added to load bearing points.
Deck-Wood, foam, additional fiberglass laminations in load bearing areas. The deck and hull have continuous bond for high strength. A stainless steel bow fitting and mast hinge are standard. Ronstan cam are used for the jib sheets. Shroud adjusters make set-up fast. There is a storage compartment under the deck.
Centerboard- The centerboard is constructed of wood. The board is suspended by two stainless steel straps that insert into the trunk. This makes it possible not to compromise the watertight integrity of the centerboard trunk
Rudder-The blade is constructed of wood to replace the original. The rudder head is anodized aluminum. A wood tiller with hiking stick is included.
Spars and Rigging- Mast and boom are anodized. There are adjustable diamond spreaders with rod rigging. 1x19 shrouds are vinyl covered, which helps keep the sails clean. The forestay is 1X19 Stainless steel wire. The mail and jib halyards yacht braid. There is a whisker pole pad eye on the mast A 2:1 outhaul makes sail adjustment easy as does the 3:1 boom vang. There is a ratchet block.
Wood Whisker Pole
Bonus: if you live in the area and want me to teach a day of sailing or just show the boat upon purchase I would LOVE IT. I will miss this boat.
I am also willing to trade for one really nice Kayak or a pair.
David,
Your web site was my only method of advertising my boat and today I
sold it for the full price I was asking. I had many contacts on it. I
am VERY pleased with your service. It seems to me to be more like a
ministry. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I don't know how you did it but when I
put "lido 14 for sale" in google my page is the VERY FIRST! You are
great! If you are ever in Southern California let me know.
God Bless,
Trevor
