1972 Melges M16
This Melges M16 is a 16 foot sloop (single mast with mainsail and jib). It is a solid and relatively easy to sail boat. It is an excellent craft for family crews and younger sailors alike.
The M16 is perfect for 2 moderately sized people to race or pleasure sail. The boat has all the sail-handling adjustments of a modern sloop and a scow hull design that makes her very fast and lively. The M16 is quick to respond and in some windy situations can be exciting to sail. With that said it also can be fun to sail on days of moderate wind to just enjoy the wind and sun on most any lake. The M16 has a minimal draft and can be beached for picnics etc.
This is a clean / solid boat and will return years of fun and entertainment for a small investment versus purchasing new.
I am the second owner, my boat has been stored inside except for during sailing months. If you are new to sailing I would be available to give lessons for set-up / sailing of this M16 after purchase if interested.

Thanks for what you have done. I want to remove my ad M16 for sale. I have been having so much fun this summer sailing. I think I will reconsider this until at least next spring. There has been quite a bit more interest in sailing in our area and we have been out most every weekend.
