Federally Documented: "Moriah"
Hand laid fiberglass hull. Skeg hung rudder with cast bronze shoe on lower end. The shoal draft keel is an integral part of the hull (not bolted on). Ballast is cast lead molded to the inside of the boat. There is a deep bilge sump with a self-tending bilge pump. The deck forward has high bulwarks to keep the crew on deck in rough conditions. The cockpit has a bridgedeck to keep water out of the companionway. There is a deadeye on the bridgedeck just outside the cabin so crew may snap on before coming out. There are four opening ports in the cabin. Bomar cast aluminum hatches forward and amidships with insulated covers. All hatches have mosquito screens. Forward, there is an anchor platform with roller and anchor locker on deck. Cockpit area has coaming lockers and seat lockers port and starboard. There is also a built in propane locker port and starboard. Teak trim on the anchor platform, handrails, cap rails, companionway, coaming tops, and coaming lockers. Full sized mid-ship cleats.
Rigging:
Masthead rig with double lower shrouds. The mast is keel stepped. Roller furling headsail. There is a 1" jackline for safety harness attachment. Boom vang, two primary winches, a deck mounted winch for the mail sail and two mast mounted winches for halyards. Backstay is fitted with SSB isolator.
Sails:
Mainsail with double reef points. Headsails include storm jib, 100% jib, and 135% jib. All are roller furling sails. There is a cruising spinnaker with sock for easy handling.
Mechanical:
23 HP Volvo MD-11C diesel with Walter V-drive. 1-1/8" SS shaft turning a 3 blade bronze 17" prop. 24 gallon aluminum fuel tank, with primary and secondary filters.
Steering:
Steering is provided by a SS Edson wheel with cable and chain to quadrant. An emergency tiller is provided. The pedestal has a wheel brake and a 6" Ritchie Globe Master compass. There is also a teak fold up cockpit table and a drink holder on the pedestal.
Plumbing:
Fresh water system consists of three tanks. One forward, port and starboard. Total capacity is 76 gallons. Electric 12 volt pressure system and whale gusher foot pump in galley. Hot and cold shower. Raritan water heater is heated by engine or 110 volt shore power. S/S sink in head. New marine head with holding tank, y-valves & pump for overboard discharge or off-shore pump out. Shower has sump with overboard pump for gray water. All thru-hull fittings below waterline have bronze sea cocks.
Canvas:
Dark blue sunbrella mainsail cover, pedestal cover, winch covers. Insulated hatch covers for Bomar hatches with matching trim. Dark blue sunbrella bimini top. Lee cloths for bunks in main cabin. Companionway canvas for easy access while running A/C.
Galley:
3 burner S/S gimbaled propane range. Electric solenoid shutoff valves on propane line to bottles. Alder Barbour 12V refrigeration unit in a large ships ice box. Dishes, silverware and glasses. S/S Magma gas grill on stern rail.
Electrical:
50 foot, 30 amp shore power cable. Galvanic isolated installed. New, blue seas breaker panels for 12V and 110V circuits with amp and volt meters. 20 amp TruCharge battery charger. Two battery banks with main switches and parallel switch. House bank is two 6V large golf cart batteries with large capacity marine deep cycle/starting battery. (all batteries new in 2003) Charging system is 100 amp marinized Delco alternator with Balmar smart controller. AM/FM CD player with cabin and cockpit speakers. 25watt marine VHF radio with mast mounted antenna. Standard Horizon depth and speed instruments (new 2003). Auto Helm 3000 autopilot with remote cable. Magellan NAV 6500 GPS chart plotter with all Texas Gulf Coast map charts installed. Fans in V-berth and main cabin. 12,000 BTU reverse cycle heat and A/C unit.
Ground Tackle:
Danforth T-3000 w/10' chain and 150' 3/4" nylon line
Bruce type 30# with 6' chain and 150' of 1/2" nylon line.
Misc. Equipment:
Misc. life jackets, flares (including 3 SOLAS parachute flares), fire extinguishers, 2 sunbrella covered cockpit cushions, dock lines, fenders, radar reflector
