1980 Siren 17

  • Length: 17' 2"
  • Beam: 6' 8"
  • 140 lb galvanized swing keel
  • Draft 8" up, 4' 3" down
  • Displacement: 750 lbs
  • Sail Area: 145 sq. ft.

    Includes:

  • Main Sail, roller furl genoa jib, and spinnaker.
  • Trailer with mast winch. Trailer is not galavanized but is in excellent condition.

The Vandestadt McGruer Siren 17 is a stable roomy boat -- one of the better "micro cruisers". With its ballasted swing keel, and a kick up rudder -- the 8" draft makes it a go anywhere boat that is easy to beach.

The Siren 17 has a cuddy cabin and a large cockpit that is longer than what is found on many 23 or 24 footers. With a displacement of only 750 pounds, launching, hauling out, and towing this boat is very easy with most any vehicle. When not under sail, a 3 to 5 hp motor moves the boat well.

I have owned this boat for 15 years -- all fresh water use except for one time in Gulf last year.

This boat is in good condition -- ready to sail. Boat serial number is ZVMD1606M80B, Sail number is 1801.
