1975 Spindrift 13.5
This is a nice beginners boat in that it is easily towed, can be setup at the water in 10 minutes, can be launched in less than 2 feet of water and has plenty of beam to provide a stable sail. The cockpit of the sailboat is 7 ft in length and can accomodate 2 to 4 persons, but can also be sailed singlehanded. You can either sit down in the boat on either of the two seats on a lite day or hike out on the rail after putting your feet under the hiking straps when the wind begins to blow. The boat includes both a jib and main sail in good condition . Under the front deck is a storage compartment where you can put possessions and keep them out of the weather. Rudder is removeable and includes a tiller extension so that steering can be performed while hiking out on the rail. The centerboard is aluminum and retracts/drops down from inside a keel trunk. The wood on the sailboat was removed in May 2005 and was sanded and revarnished.
Ready to sail!
I believe the boat weighs less than 500 pounds. The trailer has a 1 7/8 inch hitch and has 12 inch wheels along with one spare. The last time used, the boat and trailer was towed over 130 miles without any problems.
Hey David,
I want to thank you again for listing my Spindrift 13.5 sailboat on your website. I sold it yesterday in only 15 days to a gentleman from Alabama. Your site produced a lot of response to my ad. I will definitely recommend your site to my friends. Oh, by the way, I am getting responses from my j24 ad also on your site. I hope that someone want to buy themself an early Xmas present. Please remove the spindrift sailboat ad at your leisure.
