2000 Wayfarer 16
Built by Abbott in Canada
displacement - 365 lbs.
sunbrella cover
New Doyle racing sails, Main and Genoa
3 original sails in excellent condition: Main, Jib, Genoa
All sails with reef points
Fiberglass construction, with fiberglass centerboard and rudder.
All gelcoat is in like new condition being very glossy and the wood on the seats and hatch cover are all in excellent varnished condition.
The wood seats are easily removable for sleeping aboard and wood rear hatch covers a huge sealed area for gear stowage. The bow has tons of room for dry bag stowage.
Wayfarers are very rare in the US and were made famous by Frank Dye and his wife Margaret who wrote "the Book" on dinghy cruising, and is considered to be the premier boat for seaworthy long distance cruising in small boats and have accomplished some amazing voyages.
The boat was raced casually by the original owner so it is set up for racing.
I have owned a Sea Pearl and this boat in my opinion is a better boat for minimalist cruising as it is lighter, faster and can sleep 2 adults
using a cockpit tent for cover.
The boat has always been stored covered and it has been very well cared for.
I have a pair of 9' take apart oars will store on board the boat.
This is the nicest Wayfarer you will find in the US!
like new galvanized trailer with ex. tires and a spare.
Hi David,
Once again sailingtexas.com came through. My boat sold very quickly for $5000.
