1971 Balboa 20, hull #419, Manufactured by Heritage Marine

  • This picture is years old. This is the actual boat.
  • Includes game fisher 7.5HP outboard motor and two axle modified original trailer.
  • 2 group 24 gel cell batteries provided.
  • Custom Teak cockpit grate, recently restored.
  • Original main and jib sails.
  • Also a colorful light air sail.
  • This boat is the Lyle Hess Trailer-sailor. It has a cast iron swing keel for tailoring and approximate 22" draft that extends to more than 5 ft when deployed.
  • The original head and alcohol stove have expired and been removed.
  • The boat is a lot of fun, and is excellent to learn to sail on.
  • Currently for sale as-is due to divorce.
  • She has been sitting, in the water and needs TLC+.
  • A wonderful opportunity to start a new hobby.

    Current status:

  • Boat is in the water at a dock,
  • Mast is up.
  • Engine is stowed inside. Has not been run in some time. It will run, or is removed from the offer at $350.
  • Boom and sails stowed inside.
  • A diver has been cleaning hull, but it is due for bottom cleaning and paint.
  • Boat shows some wear since this picture but not damaged.
  • The decorative wood on top of the fiberglass companionway hatch has deteriorated and is gone.
  • The trailer has been modified for long highway trips recently with all new: two axles, spring sets, 4 galvanized wheels and tires, and fenders. The trailer is sitting in storage and the fenders are rusted. The trailer frame shows rust and can use sand blasting and paint.
  • We had used this boat on the lake on weekends with a cooler and a porta potty. It provided protection from weather and allowed overnight "water camping". There is plenty of room for sleeping.
  • I paid $3,500 for the boat, then painted it and restored the centerboard pivot.
  • This boat, motor and trailer would be a great hobby investment and can be used as is after cleaning. Investing some time, it would be beautiful and proud.

    David,
The Balboa sold right away to the first caller, and I have had many more calls!
    All quality people!
Thanks very much for finding a new owner for CAVU!
    Bob
