Nimble 24, 1990 sailboat for sale

Long Lake NY. 68 North Point Road, 12847

The Zelie is a 24 foot double ended sharpie-type shallow-draft yawl, 3 feet longer including the boomkin for the mizzen sheet. She has a shallow ballast keel containing the swing centerboard whichc makes her a better sailer than the “tropical version” with a deeper fixed keel and no centerboard. The centerboard pendant leads to the self-bailing cockpit with its teak grating and comfortable seating for four.
  • Three new custom cream-white custom made sails, main with 4 battens, overlapping jib, and mizzen. She has a CDI roller-furler.
  • Excellent origial Continental trailer with 4 new tires and new surge brakes lights, and coupling. With the shallow keel, this model floats off a trailer nicely.
  • 2014 8 Hp Yamaha 4-stroke. It does not have electric start. Fuel supply goes from stlandard portable tank to a custom filter before going to the engine.
  • One of the best things about this boat is its mast-raising/lowering system: An A-frame whose legs tie to the aluminum scupper-rails, and wooden baby-stays whose legs attach to the grab rails on the cabin-top and whose apex carries three slugs which run in the sail-track on the mast. This keeps the mast straight in line with the crutch which mounts in the mizzenmast step as it goes uip and down. The trailer winch strap goes to the apex of the A-frame and gives you about 12-to-one advantage in raising and lowering the mast. One person does it easily.
  • Single newer Interstate deep cycle battery in the galleyi locker. The circuit-breaker panel above it allows for two batteries.
  • Freshwater bladder under portl settee led to foot-pump to the sink. Two burner alcohol stove. Head and storage tank forward. Cedar-lined hanging locker. Flat bottom, 8 foot beam permit quantities of storage under berths with sitting headroom. Six opening bronze ports with new screens, one round bronze fixed port forward, two aft in teak companionwy doors. Teo 25 pound Danforth anchors. Anchor roller and on-deck teak box for chain and rode.
  • VHF radio. Adequate bumpers. Wiring for a chartplotter and antenna. Sail covers not very good. Cabin cushions with cheap striped covers, not very good. Cockpit cushions better. There is a wide over-the boom sun- and -rain shield, like a bimini.
  • The Zelie was in salt water for much of her life with no ill effects.
  • This is a cored fiberglasss hull, unsinkable, and the gelcoat is good but far from shiny. Bottom paint also good. Along the rails the gelcoat has hairline cracks, more on one side, I think from her being tied up to docks in rough weather. The teak rub-rail and hand-rails was long maintained with Cetol, which built up and is now flaking off. Teak itself in good shape. Interior teak has the usual water damage under some of the ports. Sole has water damage also, aft under bridge-deck. Pretty nice old boat ennaway. And surely a value at the price.
