The painted bunting comes to our bird feeder every day. This is a video of a male bird. Perhaps the female is sitting on her eggs. This 45 second clip took 24 hours to film. The painted bunting usually arrives 10 seconds after the camera has run out of film. You need the Flash plugin to see the video, which should start playing by itself after it has buffered 20 seconds of the video. When it is finished or after you stop it you can start the 2nd one which is a little better and was taken on May 2, 2006.

These videos were taken with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2. A $200 camera designed mainly for still photography, it will take a 30 minute video with sound if you have the 1 Gig memory card. The built in microphone is not extremely good, but it does work.
