This Sea Swinger was found at a garage sale in Granite Shoals, Texas in 2007. Made in Pennsylvania by Siltronics, Inc., from the looks it was made in the early 60's. It is the smallest non-homemade sailboat with a jib that I have seen!
The Sea Swinger is about 10 feet long and 3 feet wide, although we didn't measure it, with about 50 sq.ft. of sail. Cleats were just eye bolts. The rudder and centerboard looked like cheap plastic, but after all these years they were not broken at all. It had halyards for both the main and the jib, with a horn cleat mounted on the mast, but the main halyard was gone. No problem, we just tied the main sail to the top of the mast. Van took it for a sail on Lake LBJ, and it sailed quite well, even with all the cracks and holes in the bottom. The hull shape is something like a scow, and almost the entire boat is cockpit.
