Sailing the Canyon of the Eagles

Page One Page Two Page Three

March first was a foggy, misty morning in the 40's. 3 boats met at Alexanders Boat Dock to cruise up the Canyon of the Eagles, the upper 10 miles of Lake Buchanan, Texas. The forecast of 10-15 mph winds was not happening, but we set off under sail toward Fall Creek Falls. Bills Cape Dory 28 did well in the light winds.
Jody and Mary brought their Macgregor 22 and Barkley. The first few miles to Falls Creek took us about 3 hours, we had a couple of brief showers but not enough to get us wet.
Bob's Starwind 19 rounded out our trio of boats. It did well in the light air.
Our recent rains had the Falls Creek Falls running well, the lake elevation is 1019 in these pictures. That wasn't high enough for our cell phones to work!
We continue up the river toward Deer Creek Falls as the fog begins to lift.
