The annual Heart Of Texas Regatta on Stillhouse Hollow Lake was great fun in 2006, as usual! Jenny Loehlin and her crewman Jim outsailed everyone in her Harpoon 5.2 to win the Portsmouth class. With 8 races, everyone was in the lead at least once, and I was the only one who didn't win a race!

Alison and I did our first regatta as a husband/wife team! The variable winds were challenging but we had a lot of luck to somehow hold onto 2nd place.
David and Alison Luckenbach, Flying Scot

Mike Mashl was the only Laser so he sailed to 3rd place in the Portsmouth fleet.

Dave Kleinman brought his US1, a slick boat you don't see many of anymore. A very narrow hull without much freeboard, it was really fast. After a disapointing first few race he got in the groove to take 4th place. Dave Kleinman, US1
Rick Powers sailed his MC16 to 5th place. I always enjoy Rick's comraderie on the water, he's fun to race with. Rick Powers, MC16
The Sunfish class was dominated by Ellen Burks, who won 7 of the 8 races! Ellen Burks, Sunfish
Warren Fitzpatrick (on the left) took 2nd place, the only male in the top 4! The Sunfish class women outdid the men this weekend. Before a start on Stillhouse Hollow
Mary Medina took 4th in the Sunfish class. Mary Medina, Sunfish
Pat Manning took 3rd overall. Pat Manning, Sunfish
