She sails great and fast. Once trimmed well, she sails hands off for 2 hours as I did last Saturday.
According to information found on the web, 25 pilot house boats were manufactured by Allmand. Using the same hull but offered as the tri-cabin model some 400 units were built.
Nowadays Allmand builds motorboats only.
This boat has spent most of its life on Lake Michigan, followed by some years on Lake Travis and is in the Galveston Bay area since about 2004. A blue water trip to Australia and back was completed by one of its former owners.
The boat made it through IKE without a scratch.
The vessel went through a full overhaul/restoration during an 11 months period in 2006 while being in a steel cradle.
