Great homemade trailer with new tires and wheels, new hubs and axle, lights and non-marking rubber rollers (included)
This recently restored 12.5' AMF Puffer is a great daysailer and racing dinghy, offering the stability of a wide hull in a small, fast and light package! It's a great one-hander suitable for both the new sailer and the experienced old salt alike! This was my first sailboat which I bought from a guy who bought it from his neighbor who must have never sailed it - other than some sad looking bright work, the boat was in pretty good shape. My dad and I completely overhauled and refitted the boat to bring it to a like new condition.
I knew we had done a good job taking an already good looking boat and making it great looking when, upon our maiden voyage, a fellow sailor waiting to launch asked if it was new - nope, not new, just a girl's first sailboat so fashion was as great a consideration as function when working to get it ready for its debut. It's now ready to sail, nothing needed. The main sail is in fair condition with a number of patches on small puncture wounds, but should last at least one more season. The jib is in good condition.
I am looking to sell as my dad, his love of sailing renewed by restoring this boat, purchased a 17' Oday Daysailer and the man can't be on two boats at once which sadly leaves my poor Puffer, dubbed Zippity, without a captain! I really do love this boat but am moving on to a bigger vessel on which to continue my sorely lacking sailing education. Zippity can be launched from the beach or off the trailer and the mast is easy to rig. A pure pleasure to sail!
Hello David!
Just wanted to let you know I sold my boat this weekend, ironically enough to a recent Texas transplant who saw the ad on your site! Sailingtexas.com is the only place I advertised and the only place I needed to - I got tons of interest from all over the country from the very first day the ad went live. I am so glad to have sold it for a good price to a good guy who I know will have a lot of fun sailing the (not so) high seas of Jacksonville, Florida in her! Thanks for everything.
Sincerely,
Kristen
