1980 AMF Apollo 16
Rebuilt over the last two years.
Renovations include
additional foam flotation
hardware stripped, polished and rebedded
Hull was faired and hull reinforced at chainplates, all repairs done with "West System" materials.
Centerboard and rudder were drilled and allowed to drain
for six months repaired and faired.
Hull, deck, cockpit, rudder, and centerboard painted with two coats Interlux poly primer and three coats Interlux White Topside. Nonskid is Biege Interlux.
Sails are by Fogh would rate them as Very Good. Sail wndows are clear, mainsail headboard has new rivets, one or two minor rust stains on each sail.
Standing rigging is excellent.
Mast and boom hardware was removed and polished.
Mast and boom painted with two coats primer and three coats white enamel.
All hardware reinstalled with new bedding.
All running rigging is new and setup for single handed sailing.
Wire halyards replaced with low stretch line.
Wood components removed, stripped, painted with four coats spar poly gloss.
Custom mahogany hatch cover.
Hull does not leak!
Starboard bailer leaks. If I kept boat I would remove bailers and fill openings to fair with hull. These bailers have a reputation for leaking.
New drain plugs.
Galvanized trailer has new tires, hubs, bearings and axle.
