1996 Beneteau Oceanis 351

  • Hull Material: Fiberglass
  • Engine/Fuel Type: Single Diesel

The Beneteau Oceanis 351 is a performance cruiser that can also participate in club racing. With its clean lines and rounded curves, it conjures up images of a luxury sports sedan. The hull is laminated fiberglass, with an internal fiberglass hull liner reinforced with unidirectional rovings. The deck's Baltek balso core provides stiffness and acoustic insulation. On deck, a mechanical in-mast furling mainsail and a 140 percent roller furling headsail are standard. All halyards, control lines and sheets are lead aft to either side of the companionway, where they are controlled by Lewmar self-tailing winches placed behind a bank of stoppers. All engine gauges are mouned on top of a pedestal directly in front of the helmsman. This arrangement allows engine systems to be monitored constantly and places the ignition switch at the helmsman's fingertips. A molded instrument pod directly above the gauges gives the helmsman a clear view of the sailing instrumentation. The wide side decks provide unobstructed passage to the foredeck, which is wide and uncluttered. The anchor locker has amble space for ground tackle, and the boat comes with a manual anchor windlass. Below deck, the main salon features a lange u-shaped settee to starboard with a table that can be lowered to make a double berth. A settee to port has storage beneath it. The chart table is located at the settee's aft end; the end of the settee is used as the navigator's seat. The galley is just aft to port and contains twin stainless sinks with pressurized hot and cold water, a three burner propane stove and oven, and 12v refrigeration. The head, directly to starboard, has 6'1" of headroom and is molded in one piece for ease of cleaning.
