2000 Bolger Chebacco 20
designed by the late Phil Bolger.
It is also called a Cat-yawl because of the small mizzen mast.
When I first started sailing it on the Chesapeake Bay, peaople constantly complimented the boat since it has a wonderful "old fashioned" look to it.
The boat is constructed of Douglas Fir plywood and epoxy, mast and spars are Douglas fir also, length is 19' 6" overall and displacement is 1900 lbs. according to the plans
gaff-rigged sail area is 175 sq. ft. total. The sails are in great shape since everything including the boat were built in the year 2000.
There is a small cuddy cabin on this boat which can hold your battery, portapotty and other supplies - I have slept in it too many times to count too.
I have sailed extensively on the Chesapeake Bay and the James River here in Virginia and can attest to the sea worthiness and speed of this design. It's a blast to sail, especially flying down wind or on a broad reach.
No motor
trailer included, rusty in need of some work such as lights - structurally it is fine.
Hi David,
My boat sold yesterday (Friday)! It was clearly from the wonderful response on your website because your site was the "only" advertising I used. Thanks so much.
