GENERAL INFORMATION
DAWN TREADER is the last Cape Dory 36 molded by Cape Dory Yachts and assembled by Robinhood Marine, before converting to their Robinhood 36 model. The original owner had the boat custom built to include all the classic hardware & layout of the Navigator Model, i.e. bronze winches, portholes, etc., but added a modern appearance with a flag blue hull, gold cove stripe, double-red boot top striping and white awlgrip-painted mast & boom. No expense was spared to improve performance, cruising comfort and aesthetic appeal. The second, and current, owner had a major overhaul of the engine, battery/windlass wiring, alternator, electronics, hot water heater, head & propane system done in 2001 by Quality Yachts of Tiverton, RI. DAWN TREADER carries four sails, including a large mast-head spinnaker. A new headsail from Thurston Quantum Sails has been added in 2005. DAWN TREADER has been well maintained at top New England boat yards and kept in excellent condition for coastal or offshore sailing. Presently, she is located at Bristol Marine in Bristol, RI. DAWN TREADER is currently scheduled to go on her bi-annual cruise to Maine, returning in late September. She can be seen at ports along the route. Delivery can be provided anywhere on the U.S. East Coast.
More information on the CD36 and this boat can be found in Blue Water Sailing Magazine's Survey Review of March 1998 and the Sail Magazine of February 1998.
