This is a high performance boat with many similarities to a Laser. With a generous sailplan and an efficient hull shape it is easy to pop up on a plane, points high to windward and screams downhill. It has a two piece mast to allow easy transport, a loose footed main sail with a sleeved luff, a hiking strap, ratchet block for the main sheet and good quality hardware throughout. It features some nice refinements when compared to a Laser like the elongated cockpit area which allows two adults to sail comfortably and twin transom mounted scuppers. This is one of the very view boats of this type with self bailers which actually work and are maintenance free. Designed by Frank Butler of Catalina and Capri Yachts, the superior build quality of the Catalina Yacht Works is evident throughout.
This boat is in very nice condition and shows few signs of use. Aside from a few imperfections on the deck the hull is relatively free of noticeable scratches. There are no soft spots. The spars are true and the sail is nice and crispy. It has the original factory gel coated resin centerboard and rudder, aluminum tiller and an RWO aluminum tiller extension. Note: Sailboats shorter than 14 feet long do not require a title in Texas.
The galvanized trailer is in very good condition. The lights work, the bearings have recently been serviced and the tires are good. The coupler is made to accommodate a one and seven eights inch ball.
