1974 Catalina 22
85% restoration aproximately one year ago and has loads of nearly new equipment. The following are all items either rebuilt, refinished, or replaced during the boats restoration in 2005.
Interlux Brightside paint sprayed on topsides and deck. Both deck colors were mixed with Interlux flattening agent to produce a low glare finish. All striping is painted as well, not a sticker!
Interlux Fiberglass Bottom Coat antifouling paint applied to bottom.
Bow eye installed.
Stem reinforcement kit installed.
Heavy duty chainplates installed.
Stainless steel spreader brackets installed.
All wood sanded and refinished.
4 to 1 internal outhaul installed inside boom.
All running rigging except jibsheets replaced with color coded New England Ropes.
New Harken mainsheet blocks installed.
New interior table built and installed.
New curtains installed.
New slip covers for all but one interior cushion.
New cockpit cushions.
Solar powered ventilator installed in front hatch.
New keel casting fasteners installed.
Cabin cover in good shape aside from frayed edges.
New standing rigging including forestay, main shrouds, half shrouds, turnbuckles and all hardware included but not yet installed.
Like all boats, there are a few items that could still use some attention. She is mostly wired but does not have an operational electrical system (just needs a switch panel and battery). We daysailed and just used clip on lights for the occasional nightsail. The bow pulpit is slightly bent on the starboard side. Also included in the sale is a good running 3.5 HP Nissan outboard. The motor had its' impeller replaced about one year ago but needs a lower unit seal replaced as it has begun to leak gear oil. Should be an easy fix. The boat also comes with three sails, main, 110% working jib, and 150% genoa. All sails are in good used condition. The boat does not have a trailer but is ready to take on Eagle Mountain Lake when you are.
David,
Our Catalina sold last week to a buyer who saw the boat on your site. Not only did he find the right boat for he and his daughter, we think we found the right owner and caretaker for our beloved "Rainy Day". We can't thank you enough for the ad you placed for us. You truly offer an incredible service to sailors the world over. As time goes on, we'll likely be back in the market for a new boat and sailingtexas.com will be the first place we check. Thanks again, and happy sailing!
Sincerely,
Joshua
