1980 Catalina 22
"Quality Time" is a 1980 Catalina 22 swing keel pop top model. This boat is packed with features, has seen many upgrades and has been lovingly cared for.
Accommodations:
Dining table to post that makes into berth capable of sleeping two. Dining table is new and beautifully constructed from poplar. Forward is a V-berth capable of sleeping two comfortably. Under the V-berth is a fixed marine head. To starboard is a settee and sliding galley.
Galley:
Sliding galley with ice box, 10 gallon freshwater holding tank, working hand pump faucet, and sink with drain. Kenyon pressurized alcohol stove (recently overhauled).
Electrical:
Breaker panel replaced in '02. All interior lights replaced. All navigation lights replaced. Majority of wiring has been replaced. Group 24 deep cycle marine battery new in '08. 10 watt flexible solar panel.
Head/plumbing:
This has a Jabsco fixed marine head. This was rebuilt in '03. All plumbing hoses replaced including new brass through hull. 15 gal flexible holding tank with through deck pump out.
Deck/Hull:
Swing keel model. Cable in good condition. Bronze keel hanger upgrade completed in '05. Complete bottom job completed in '06. Removed down to gel coat. Repair of blisters completed. Boat remained out of water for a full season for repairs. Moisture meter used to confirm no additional moisture in hull. 6 coats of interlux interprotect barrier coat applied. 3 coats of interlux micron with biolux bottom paint. Topside in very good condition. Compounded and waxed each season. Deck gray/tan nonskid. Bow pulpit, stern rail and lifelines and swim ladder. Hatch forward. Poptop model to increase interior headroom. All wood stripped this year, rebedded and oiled with teak oil. Windows and frames removed, windows retinted, and rebedded.
Sails/Rigging
Rolly Tasker Main new in '99, two sets of reefing points with both rigged. Good condition.
150% north sail genoa. good condition with two windows.
110% unknown brand.
Storm Jib. Heavy in good condition.
All halyards led aft to cabintop. Barlow 10 winches with handle. Shroud to deck conections heavy duty upgrade. Split adjustable back stay upgrade. Mainsheet traveler upgrade.
Rudders:
One piece performance rudder upgrade plus original kick up rudder.
Engine:
1979 Johnson 6hp longshaft. Incredibly reliable. New impeller in '07. Always maintained.
Trailer:
Heavy duty homebuilt tandem axle trailer with extendable tongue and adjustable pads. Lights rewired. Trailer has VIN and title.
I am sure I have forgot to mention some items. It is rare to find a Catalina 22 in this condition and with such complete systems.
