Water ballast makes boat towable with standard pickup truck, also hobby horses less than similarly sized sailboat with fixed keel in Lake Erie chop. Sails and outboard are two seasons old and in great shape. Safe, stable, fast sailboat that is a just right size for bigger water, but small enough to cheaply store/use/maintain. Plenty of room for family and friends, and weekending and camping on the water. Catalina built these with a strong vinylester resin which makes them light and really damage proof... usually that is only used on racing boats.
Large roomy cabin for a trailerable boat with modern open layout, with private head.
Large dining table stows under Vberth or sets up in cockpit for added room
Stove in galley with storage space, sink and icebox
Large aft bunk plus the V berth forward offer comfortable sleeping for 4 adults, also 2 children sized quarterberths.
Large cockpit provides comfortable seating and wheel steering takes minimal room... longest cockpit of any sailboat in our marina... sailed many times with 8 passengers not including myself and once we squeezed 10 aboard and motored to a swimming hole. All sailing lines led aft, only time you need to go on the cabintop is to douse/furl the mainsail. Combination of balanced 2nd gen rudder, swing centerboard that allows adjustable CLR to provide singlehanded sailing up to 30 mph winds, in normal winds the boat can be trimmed out to sail handsfree for hours. Easy mast up and down system can be done alone, too. This is a boat that can be trailered, setup, and sailed easily and safely.

Lewmar 6 cabintop winches
Lewmar 7 coaming winches, (added shortly after these pictures were taken) makes this boat a true singlehander’s dream... and when taking people out, you have no need for trained crew...
