The sailboat was taken out of the water the end of April for dry dock repairs: changed the keel parts out with new 'improved' stuff per Catalina Direct,(has a swing keel for trailerable option). We also stripped the bottom paint and put on marine grade primer and 3 coats of anti-fouling paint. Then we buffed out the boat with rubbing compound and waxed it. The boat had very little use before us and has 2 quality sails in good condition. It has a anchor with chain rode in good condition. The inside of the boat is clean and just wired last August,2008,(never had outlets). I put a new am/fm cd player with ipod connection in May/09. I also had new wiring to the mast and new outside lights installed for anchoring, etc. I have new,(September 2008), dual batteries set up w/charging system. It has 2 cigarette lighter connections to charge cell phones, etc. We installed a new motor mount from Catalina Direct last September so the motor comes out of the water nice when you go to sail. It also has a vhf radio and a digital depth sounder. The only thing we need to do is re-finish the outside teak.
I really like the layout which is the reason for owning the sailboat. It has a dinette that becomes a bed. It has sleeping under the aft deck as well as a forward berth. It has the pop-top canvas option as well, so when you are anchored or moored you have more head room. It sails easily in light winds and with the option of the swing keel it allows for less drag when you have it up. The swing keel also affords sailing into a more shallow area,(2.5 foot draft). The motor pushes the boat at hull speed easily; which is 6.5 knots. The Mercury Longshaft was purchased new 5/31/09.
Optional trailer available
I sold this boat.
