This is definitely not a project boat, but does need some TLC and finish work. In the last year we have refinished the galley counter tops, dining table and chart table with new white formica. PO repowered with a rebuilt 12 HP diesel (which runs very well) and consequently had to rebuild part of the galley so it is not the traditional salon from that era, but still very usable and comfortable. Not all lighting and wiring is hooked up, but the wiring is there and only needs to be completed. Very sailable as she is (we sailed her two seasons) but still room for all the improvements you would want to do. Running rigging appears to be just fine, but the rudder does need some attention. The deck and hull are in very good condition considering her age.
Things to do:
Re-plumb the galley sink
Inspection of head (we never used it)
Finishing wiring
Attention to the rudder
Possible recover of the cushions
Things already done:
All teak inside and out was re-oiled last season
New formica on salon countertops
Very nice Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove installed
We have enjoyed this comfortable old boat. This would be a great boat to sail and enjoy as you improve and finish her.
Trailer available for purchase.
Hi Dave,
the Catalina 30 (Catalina 30 103) has been sold. She will be leaving Kansas for her new home in Georgia on Thursday. Imagine that--all the way to Georgia. Thanks for all your help.
