1972? Catalina 8
LOA 8 foot
BEAM 4 foot, 3 inches
Made by Catalina Yachts of California, Sail by Hallmark
This beautiful, well made boat would be a great first sail boat for a junior sailor or a lighter weight adult. The hull and foils are all fair (smooth). The sail is newer than the hull and is in excellent condition and is bright white, stiff and crisp. The sail rig is identical to a Laser with a sleeved luff and and a sectioned aluminum mast. A junior sailor could easily graduate to a Laser when the time is right. The mahoghany rudder, daggerboard, laminated tiller, tiller extension and teak brightwork have been stripped and refinished with many coats of good quality spar varnish. The topsides were refinished with West polyurethane earlier this year. This boat is bright and shiny and makes a great appearance. The boat has a good hiking strap. Typical excellent Catalina build quality is evident throughout. Sailboats smaller than 14 foot do not require a title in Texas. Sorry, no trailer for this boat. It will however fit in most full size pickup beds or can be carried on a roof rack.
Many thanks for running my ad and all you do to support sailing in Texas and throughout the country. A beginning junior sailor from Austin is now the proud owner of this boat. Please mark as sold.
