The Compac 16 is a small, self righting sailboat. It is light weight for trailering. It can be towed behind a small car. The shallow keel makes it easy to launch and retrieve. The boat is dry and can withstand considerable wind and waves. The cockpit is 6 feet 11 inches long, comfortable for 3-4 people and self bailing. She has two 8 foot bunks below. With an aluminum rudder and only two pieces of wood to varnish, she is very low maintenance. She has only 3 stays which makes the mast lighter than boats with 6-8 stays. Having only 3 stays makes set up and take down easier and faster.
You don't have to pay rent on a slip or a storage yard because this boat fits in a standard garage. This makes her exceptionally economical.
Her traditional lines make her very attractive, and her small size makes her fun to sail.
