2001 Corsair F31 Ultimate Cruiser (trimaran)

  • The Ultimate Cruiser model of the F-31 trimaran is an aft cabin design with a galley (2 burner Origo stove, pressure hot water) and a full head/shower in the bow of the boat. The shower also has pressure hot water (12 gal. water tank, can be expanded). The full marine head has a 12 gallon (if I recall correctly) holding tank that can be manually pumped overboard when that's legal to do so. The main cabin can be made up into a large king size bed. Access to the aft cabin bunk is either through the cockpit or through a passageway underneath the cockpit (where the cooler usually resides).

    Other details:

  • 9.9 hp Honda (w/tiller to motor connector)
  • Calvert Main & Roller Furling Jib (Cruiselam fabric)
  • Spare set of jib sheets (new)
  • sails are 2001 except code zero
  • 2:1 mainsail halyard setup
  • 4 Harken self-tailing winches (all on cabin top)
  • 2:1 bowsprit extending system
  • Sunbrella jib cover
  • Strong sail luff w/Strong mainsail slugs
  • Lazyjack system & Sunbrella mainsail cover
  • Profurl roller furling (Wigston set-up replaces forestay)
  • Leneman/Pattison Code Zero w/Facnor continuous roller furler (2003), 3/8" spinnaker sheets
  • Nexus instruments
  • speed, depth, wind (w/mast fluxgate compass rotation compensator). Note masthead wind indicator/compensator: I’ve never gotten to work properly
  • 4 readouts (2 in cockpit, 1 on each side of cabin top)
  • Standard VHF-DSC radio
  • Leneman stern pushpit
  • Leneman honeycomb wood inserts to convert main cabin into King size bed
  • Technora netting lines (silence nets when stepped on)
  • Magma Propane BBQ
  • Zodiac 8' dingy w/wood floorboards
  • Forespar tiller extension & Hobie Hotstick extension (reaches out to amas)
  • Micron 66 bottom paint (white)
  • 30 amp shore power pigtail

    Ground tackle

  • Fortress FX-11 w/24' 3/8" chain, 150' 3/8" nylon rode
  • Danforth 15# w/24' 3/8" chain, 150' 1/2" nylon rode

The boat has been sailed from mast up storage from early 2002 (in storage 2001) until 2005 when it was in the water 3 mo. over the course of the summers. On average the boat's been sailed about 30 days a year. We have waxed the boat twice a year since we commissioned it. The only noticeable sun damage is in the aft cabin windows that need to be buffed out. I would consider it to be in near bristol condition.

Betelgeuse V is currently in covered dry storage in Friday Harbor WA at Shipyard Cove Marina.
