"One of a Kind" Sailing Yacht, Unique, 1935
This unique sail boat was designed and built in 1935 by Stevens Technology Institute, Castle Point on the Hudson, Hoboken, New Jersey for sailing on the Hudson and as legend has it, for racing in the Olympics. In 1978 this yacht under went a full restoration and select modifications were added to enhance the already excellent sailing characteristics of this 26' vessel.
The modifications included fiber glassing the exterior wooden hull, increasing the steel keel to 1600 pounds, raising the jib to allow safe over head swing and adding a larger rudder for prompt response. The interior wood work and decks are in good condition. The boat has been well kept and weather protected.
