Michael McGoldrick, who states:
"The prize for the boat with the best price/size ratio on the used market has to go to the Grampian 26…. What makes the Grampian such a great deal is its size - it is a BIG twenty-six footer. It has a large cockpit, standing headroom throughout the length of the cabin, and one of the bigger v-berths that can be found on any size production sailboat. And if all this isn't enough, the Grampian 26 is a surprisingly fast boat."
The Grampian 26, made in Toronto, is a roomy boat great for a cruising couple or family with younger children. It has 6 foot head room through to the v-berth. The cockpit is very large and can comfortably fit 4 adults. It has a hanging locker, bath/shower room, ice box and lots of storage; very seaworthy, easy to sail and can do well in club racing. We are only the second owner of "Ebb Tied", We sailed a few years with friends who bought it new, then decided we had to have it for ourselves. Safety and performance is seen by its ratings - Capsize Screening Factor – 1.89 (below 2 is good); Motion Comfort ratio: 21.8; Sail Area Displacement: 16.5
