Hobie 16, 1986, San Antonio, Texas, $1,485, sold 5/6/09

Here's an unusual opportunity to purchase an exceptionally nice Hobie 16. This one owner boat was purchased in 1986, was raced briefly and then retired to dry storage. During its brief racing career this boat was the 1987 Texas Hobie 16 fleet champion. The package offered for sale includes a set of Official Hobie racing sails in almost unused condition and a set of equally nice Hobie Cat Fever recreational sails. The hulls are glossy, have minimal scratches and show little wear and tear. There are no soft spots on the decks or hulls. The double laced trampoline is in excellent condition and has been stored out of the sun since new. The boat is equipped with double trapezes and the mast has a factory original Hobie Comp Tip. The spars are true and the rudders have been faired for racing. The boat comes equipped with Harken and Seaway blocks and cleats. The trailer has a Cat Box for storage and is in good condition. The lights work well, the tires are good and the bearings have recently been re-packed.
