1987 Holder 20 # 259

  • LOA: 20'4"
  • LWL: 18'5"
  • beam: 7'10"
  • draft: 3'7" (down)
  • displacement: 1160 pounds
  • ballast: 360 pounds
  • sail area: 198 square feet
  • 3 sails are included: Dacron Main and 135% Genoa, and mylar racing jib.
  • Fast and strong, yet light enough to trailer easily behind a 4 cylinder car. Moves easily in a light breeze and zips along when the wind blows a little harder. Really fun to sail, faster than lots bigger boats. The cockpit can hold five adults and the cabin holds all their gear. It really is a comfortable boat to sit in.

Boat is made of fiberglass, which I think must last pretty much forever when taken care of properly. This boat has been taken care of properly and has no leaks. The original gelcoat is intact and shines up very well with a little wax.

Sails are in good shape but I don't know what year they were made. No patches though. Sail handling is super easy with the help of 2 smooth operating halyard winches on the cabintop. The halyards were replaced in January of this year. The Harken traveler allows trimming the mainsail quickly and easily and lets you "dump" the wind if a gust hits. No waiting for all that mainsheet to run thru the blocks, just pop the traveler line loose and let it run to the lee side, dumping the gust. When the gust passes, just pull the traveler back to where it was - no lost speed, no worries mon! An old blue sail cover is included to cover the main if you leave the mast up. Works just as well as a new one! Harken blocks everywhere. No lines need replacing.

Standing rigging includes an adjustable backstay. Dock lines fore and aft. An easy starting, smooth running 2 hp Johnson moves the boat easily and quickly when needed. Trailer is in excellent shape, has bearing buddies, good tires on the ground and a good spare. This boat is ready to travel! Once you get there it can be ready to sail in a few minutes. Anchor and rode included. Some extra life vests also included.
