2004 Hunter 146

  • Garage stored, excellent condition, freshwater sailed. Trailer is 2004 Venture VB-700, also in excellent condition. Boat is 340lb., towing weight with trailer is 530lb. Trailer has a tongue jack. The boat has an aft mast carrier for towing or storage. The boat has a roller furling jib, unsinkable hull, self bailing cockpit, and Hunter's "Advanced Composite Process" construction. The sails are in excellent condition. It has a kick-up centerboard and kick-up rudder. The tiller has an extension.

    Hunter's website says:

  • "Families and new sailors will love the New Hunter 146. Higher sides and a wider beam create more confidence and the unsinkability provides peace of mind for the parents. The 146 is easy to trailer, rig and launch and it will carry the entire crew. A versatile boat for the family on the go! The new Hunter 146 is built utilizing the patented Advanced Composite Process, which combines thermoformed UV protected plastic, fiberglass mat and injected foam that is conformed into a rigid, sturdy hull that is five times more impact resistant than conventional fiberglass.
  • The 146 is the perfect family daysailer. It is a very forgiving boat in that it is extremely stable and easy to sail. With a large main and small jib the boat balances out well and the placement of the mainsheet and tiller allow for single-handing or enjoying a sail with friends or family. The 146 with its large cockpit is safe and easy to move around and the backrest coaming makes it comfortable for all day cruising. Whether you’re into performance or just learning the ropes, the 146 can handle your needs."

I have found the boat to be easy to rig, easy to launch and recover with 2 people, and easy to sail. It is comfortable to sit in, and has nice rounded edges. The styling draws compliments at the lake. It is light and easy to pull behind a small car (we use a PT Cruiser), and it fits in the garage.

    David,
Thanks for listing my boat. It sold for $4200 on Oct 25.
