2004 Hunter 170

  • LOA: 16' 10 in
  • LWL: 12' 1 in
  • Beam: 7' 6

Designed by the Hunter Design Team and produced by using the patented Advanced Composite Process, the Hunter 170 is the ultimate daysailer. Seating for six is no problem with the wide-open and uncluttered cockpit. The open transom allows for great access for swimming or boarding and there is even a dual access storage area forward to store your provisions. A wide beam will keep you stable while the hull design will really perform on all points of sail. Beginner or seasoned sailor alike will both appreciate the simplified rig with a large main and small jib. A kick-up centerboard and swing-up rudder makes beaching or landing a snap.

Durability and safety are a priority. The Advanced Composite Process integrates ABS plastic, high-density foam and stitch bi-directional cloth into a tough, unsinkable hull, which is far more impact-resistant than traditional fiberglass.

Top-name hardware and sails complete this package into a great family daysailer.

    Additional Information:

  • I purchased this sailboat, brand-new, in October 2004.
  • It has been carefully stored out of the weather under a large carport. It has been sailed, in fresh water only, a total of three times, i.e. it is virtually new! It has all the standard equipment:
  • Roller-Furling Jib by Harken
  • Kick-Up Rudder
  • Galvanized custom trailer w/ mast crutch and winch
  • Easy-Lift Centerboard (Draft Board Up: 6"!, Draft Board Down: 4'6")

    plus several nice options:

  • Minn Kota Endura 40 (40# thrust, perfect for this boat!)
  • seat cushions
  • mast float
  • motor mount
  • trailer tongue jack
  • trailer spare tire
  • **BoomKicker** - invaluable! - helps in shaping the mainsail and also replaces the need of a topping lift
  • Davis Newport Tell-Tales
  • Boat straps and non-scratch pads
  • Mainsail Reef Points
  • Battery Tie-down Points

    Hi David,
I have just reurned from Albuquerque where I delivered my Hunter 170 to its new owners.
Thank-you so much for your assistance in making two parties tickled with our transaction.
    best regards,
    Bill
