If you are looking for the perfect small sailing vessel, you've just found it. The Hunter 25.5 is as easy to sail as a dingy, and comfortable enough to spend a weekend aboard. This yacht will sleep 5 adults comfortably with its generous lay out. The interior of this vessel is surprisingly spacious. Hunters' pioneering features include a two cabin layout, large double birth located under the cockpit, and the innovational pop-top; all of which provide an interior that feels like that of a 30 footer.
The main cabin includes a dinette table to port, and a bench seat along the starboard side of the vessel. The galley includes an icebox, 2 burner alcohol stove, sink with running water, along with plenty of space for all your galley needs.
The forward cabin contains the large v-birth, complete with 6+ feet of leg room. There are shelves to either side of the birth for holding bedding or other personal items. The new head is to port, and a mirror with sink to port. A hanging locker, cabinets, and ample storage space under the birth complete a tour of the forward cabin.
Sleeping arrangements include a double birth aft, another double birth under the convertible dining table, and the v-birth forward. All interior cushions were shampooed and cleaned at the beginning of the 2008 boating season, helping to make the interior of this yacht look as good as its first day off the Hunter assembly line.
Sailing the 25.5 is like a dream come true for the first time boat owner. All lines run to the cockpit for easy handling of the sails in any weather. The sail plan includes a storm jib, working Jib, and mainsail with one reef point. With two self tailing winches, sailing this boat is no problem short handed.
On deck the 25.5 features a comfortable cockpit with liberal leg room & 6 foot benches. Single life lines including both a push-pit and pull-pit aid in the safety of all guests on board. An anchor locker located on the bow makes storing and launching the ground tackle a breeze.
New additions to the yacht in 2008 include a new companionway hatch, new flushing Port-A-Potty(to this day it has never been used), and four new (water tight) clear opening port lights.
Thanks so much for your help! I sold the boat this morning, for $3,900.
I'll be sure to use your site in the future when I'm looking for the next boat!
