2005 Hunter 38, Cruising World Boat of the Year for Production Cruisers under 40 feet!
Aux Power (Yanmar) 27-40 hp
The New Hunter 38 represents the culmination of the design dream of chief of engineering, Glenn Henderson. His goal was to design a 38 foot cruiser that was exceptionally comfortable, yet offered outstanding performance and easy handling. Using state of the art computer technology to combine optimized hull shapes, modern materials, and our most advanced construction methods, Glenn and his team bring you a design that performs brilliantly in every respect.
At Hunter, we believe that sailing should be easy and safe for the entire family. One should not have to break a sweat to enjoy a day on the water. The easy-to-manage B & R rig on board the 38 is matched with a powerful sail plan that puts the effort in the mainsail and a smaller, easily-tacked headsail. For ultimate ease a furling mainsail system is also available. The standard stainless stell overhead arch keeps the traveler up and out of the way, keeping the decks clear of the usual clutter. The arch also provides a great location to mount the bimini, stereo speakers and even overhead lighting. You'll also find our signature taffrail seats, dressed - like the rest of the cockpit area - in hassle-free, durable Flexiteek. Your days of caring for brightwork are over!
Below, you'll relax in comfort, spaciousness, and style. As you descend into the large salon, you'll note the 6'6" headroom. Finely-finished teaks, designer fabrics and a rugged Everwear sole create a feeling of warmth. Genuine Corian countertops adorn the fully-outfitted galley and the spacious head. The high gloss dining table is central to the expansive salon and when you're hosting extra guests, the dinette seating converts to a double berth. The 38 has the space and teh elegance to handle it all.
Aft, the master stateroom features a queen-size berth, built-in lounging seats and shelves, abundant compartment storage, and twin cedar-lined hanging lockers, while the V-berth guest suite includes two cedar-lined hanging lockers with shelves. You may choose the tri-cabin option that splits the aft stateroom into two separate staterooms. Either way, you'll own one of the most technically advanced, easy to sail, comfortable cruiser available today.
