1986 Goetz Built Joubert Nivelt 50
Pride 1 is a 1986 Joubert Nivelt designed IOR 50 footer. The boat was built by Goetz Custom Boatworks, Rhode Island in December of 1986. Goetz used composite materials including divinicell foam, fibreglass, kevlar and carbon laid up in West Epoxy to create a strong and light hull and deck structure. The boat was originally designed and equipped for international offshore racing.
The boat was acquired by the current owner in 1997 and several modifications have been made to improve the functionality of the vessel.
The draft has been reduced to 7' through the addition of a hi tech 5000 lb bulb with a beavertail trailing edge
A Harken "Batt" Car system has been added to ease the raising and storage of the mainsail
A custom coach roof was designed and installed to increase interior volume of the vessel
New Raymarine electronics were added in 2000
New Awlgrip Topside paint in 2000
New Deck Paint in 2001
New opening ports and hatches in 2000
Installation of a lightweight cruising interior has commenced, customization for the new owner could be incorporated.
