1985 Kirie Elite 30

  • refurbished in 2005. This is a great racer or super fast cruiser. Great stern swim platform with ladder. Topsides (sides of hull), deck, and mast repainted with Interlux Interthane Plus high performance 2-part polyurethane paint. New Awlgrip GripTex non-skid decks. The prepwork for the paint job was meticulously done. Every scratch was filled and faired and the boat was sanded between each coat. The finish looks like the original factory finish. Hull was sealed with epoxy and coated with Interlux Interprotect 3000. When the boat was repainted everything except the toe rail was removed from the deck, and everything has been rebedded with 3M 5200. There are no fitting leaks into the cabin. Mast was spar-tited in cabin top. Woodwork inside and out was revarnished. All of the interior headliner has been replaced. Large lazarette storage area in cockpit and there is storage space in the cockpit under the stern seat for a cooler or life raft. Anchor locker at bow. The main aft cabin, sleeps two, is separated from the main cabin with a bulkhead and door and includes a hanging locker. The aft head is also separated from the main cabin with a bulkhead and door and also includes a wet hanging locker with a drain for foul weather gear or wet items. The forward v-berth, sleeps two, is separated from the main cabin with a bulkhead and curtain and includes full length shelving on each side. The main cabin can also sleep two. Galley sink and cockpit shower head have pressurized water. The Galley included a propane stove w/ oven, stainless steel sink, ice box and lots of storage space. Large nav table across from the galley with all fuse panels centrally located. New Instruments, Horizon Standard, (depth, speed, and wind). New Radio, Marine AM/FM/CD (MP3) 160W with two cabin mounted speakers. Brand new head, holding tank, and tank alert system has never been used. All acrylic in hatches and cabin ports is new. Most of the wiring has been replaced with tinned marine grade copper wiring. All navigation lights have been replaced. Shore power with galvanic isolator and automatic battery charger. Too many sails and upgrades to list, but I will do my best below.

The only negative is that the prop shaft needs to be straightened or replaced. It is still functional but there is a minor vibration due to the shaft not being true. The last time the boat was hauled the yard put the lifting strap across the shaft and didn’t realize it until it was too late.
