1968 Allied Luders 33, "Horizon"
She is a United States Coast Guard Documented Vessel with the Official # 514763. What this means to you is that you have a complete history of the vessel: a complete chain of title from the date the hull was laid by the manufacture back in 1968 to my present ownership, all name changes and changes in home ports.
I will accept in trade, motorcycles (dirt bikes, cruising bike), a bay fishing boat with trailer, a 2 place Ultra Lite aircraft, a vehicle suitable for my 16 year old son to drive, for up to $8000 of my equity in the boat. The remainder of the sales price must be in cash so I can clear the title of the bank lien.
HORIZON is the sister ship to the Luders 33 that Robin Graham used on the last part of his solo circumnavigation that was document by National Geographic Magazine. My three sons (14, 17 & 23) and I sailed HORIZON from Texas to the Bahamas and back for our 8 week summer vacation last year. The photo is HORIZON at a key in Bimini. I assure you this is a fast, nimble, cruising boat that can go anywhere. This vessel has NO ISSUES that need addressing prior to another voyage. All you need to do is top off the water tanks, put the provisions onboard and you are ready to cruise.
On January 10, 2004, I had a complete marine survey conducted on HORIZON. Her "Approximate Fair Market Value" then was $31,000 and her "Approximate Replacement Value" then was $205,000. Since that survey I have added a $3500 Monitor Self Steering Vane and a two burner propane gimbaled stove. Her estimated value today is around $33,000. Survey available.
