inner tracks on the foredeck for smaller working jib
main, jib & spin halyards
genoa downhaul
lazy jacks
whisker pole
topping lift and downhaul for whisker pole
new mainsail
custom cover
cover over hatch
outboard motor mount
a solar powered fan.
Kick-up rudder with line and cam cleats to raise/lower it and hold it in
position.
The draft is 5' with the board down, ~18" board up.
The sail inventory includes a main in very good condition, a working jib
(lightly used) in good condition, a mylar genoa in usable fairly good
condition, and a new 155 genoa from Somerset Sails used maybe only 2-3
times. No spinnaker.
The shrouds, halyards, turning blocks, winches, and lines are all in good shape with 2 sets of genoa sheets, attached to the sails.
There are no interior cushions as there were none when I got it.
There is a stereo and a VHF radio with new cable and antenna up to the masthead
12V bilge pump
new battery.
The interior is plain spartan fiberglass. The previous owner had done a keel bolt repair/replacement and it's glassed in, and to be honest, I don't know exactly what he did, but it doesn't bounce around side-side very much at all compared to what I read. The trick in keeping the keel quiet is to not let all the slack out of the keel cable, but to keep a little tension on it when sailing so the keel is maybe 1/2" or less up from it's lowest drop.
There are no leaks in this boat, the hull is solid with no cracks, damage,
etc., and the gelcoat is still good.
The boat is a blast to sail, can easily be singlehanded as all lines from the mast are lead back into the cockpit and are easily accessible, or it can be sailed with a full crew.
The trailer that I got with the boat fits it very well, and is
completely roadworthy, bearings are good, and is licensed and titled in
Florida. The tires are absolutely brand new, have 0 miles, have never been ridden on since I recently installed them.
Hi, David.
First off, I've just seen your story on Sailingtexas and read it word for word, and am so happy you have responded to all that has been thrown upon you. Too bad I missed your funeral postponement party, hope you have 20 or more annual ones. In my former life I was a
thoracic/cardiovascular surgeon and dealt with that almost every day.
and it's really gratifying to see someone who has responded as well as
you, you've gone to the right places, picked the right doctors, so stick
with it.
Secondly, I've sold my boat, the 1984 Mirage 5.5, so you can take it off
your list. Thank you for all your help with that.
I've recommended your site to innumerable people over the years, both
those looking to buy as well as sell boats, and for the great
instructional videos you have on there. So stick with that too.
Just remember, old sailors never die, they just get a little dinghy,
So thanks again, and stay well,
Marc
