1974 Northstar 30
My boat is a NorthStar 30. It was built in 1974, at the time with a 30-horsepower Atomic Four gasoline inboard engine. Less than a year ago that engine died and has been replaced with a 15-horsepower, four stroke Tohatsu outboard with cockpit controls. The engine is adequate for virtually all sailboat requirements. The inboard engine is no longer in the boat. This sailboat is 30 feet, 8,000 pounds, with a 5.3 foot draft (keel depth). It has an auto pilot, five sails, uses a tiller, has a new bimini, head, galley, ice box, stove, three of five cushions are recovered, sleeps five, ship VHF radio, AM-FM radio and CD player. A small refrigerator and air conditioner are available but were not made for the boat (I have never used either.) The bottom was repainted a year ago.
Five Sails-One Main Sail, One Spinnaker, Three Foresails (100%, 120%, 135%)
This is an old racer in excellent condition for its age and has been well cared for. Since this is an older boat it was made with a solid fiberglass hull instead of the newer method of using a hollow core to cut weight. This makes for a sturdier vessel. Take it out, spend the night, and cook dinner with your friends.
