1968 Oday Daysailer 17
This boat seems to have lived a relatively easy life. No major damage ever. There is a small repair on the starboard (right) side of the boat from a tree branch that fell on her during a good old Texas thunderstorm. The repair would not be noticed with hull paint. It is very smooth and clean. The interior of the boat is fine. All fiberglass is in good condition. I have had the boat out twice and it does not leak in any of the usual spots such as the keel area. Very solid. There are two drain plugs in the boat...one in the transom and one just aft of the keel. All rigging is included and in good working order. I have two sets of sails...two mains and two jibs. The first set is probably original and tired. The second set is a year old and very crisp. Over $800 in sails alone. The original wood floors are included as well but they need to be refinished and some broken pieces replaced. This boat is a very minor fixer upper that could be perfect in one winter. I just don't have the time or patience to do that and learn at the same time.
Also included is a brand new Minn Kota trolling motor that I used once along with a brand new marine battery to power it. ($200 value approx)
The only thing needed to get this boat on the lake is a rudder. Parts are easily obtained though odayowners.com. This boat has been in continous production since the 50s so I don't see there being any problems down the line of getting parts. This boat also includes a very nice tilt trailer with good tires. I would feel comfortable letting you drive off across country with them. All lights work as well.
I have title on the boat. Registration on the boat expires this month and the trailer needs to be registered. No title or tag.
