Oday 22, 1974

Fixed keel 23 inch draft.

Displacement 2083lbs.

Sails:

  • Dacron Mainsail (2005)
  • premium Dacron 135% Genoa (2004) with furling bag;
  • sails are all in fine shape;
  • Spinnaker and working jib are both original.

    2004 Evinrude 4.5HP gas motor has been maintained annually.

    Stainless steel standing rigging was replaced in 2004.

    Rudder and tiller replaced in 2007 (original lost in a storm).

    Boom is original, mast replaced in late 1990’s (also due to storm damage).

    The O’Day 22 is one of the most successful compact cruisers ever built, this sailboat is VERY stable and easy to sail; makes a great starter / family boat.

    Cabin has berths (with thick vinyl padding) and pump potty; galley has stainless sink, gas stove and small table/bench. (The head needs a holding tank.)

    This boat has been lovingly sailed for many seasons (by a now elderly couple) on Manhasset Bay and Long Island Sound (dry docked in winters).

    All she needs is a typical spring cleaning and fresh bottom paint - you'll be sailing in no time!
