Missing Years can be set up as a cutter or sloop. I have a removeable staysail stay for the cutter set-up. In addition, there is a self-tending boom for the staysail (hanked on w/1 set of reef points). The jib roller furler is a Harken. An E-Z Lazy Jack system is installed. All main control lines are lead to cockpit for easy single-handing.
The Orion offers a good cruising interior for a 27 ft. boat. There is 6'1" of standing headroom throughout and a 9'3" beam. The vanity has a sink/shower and storage. A generous chart table is next to the galley with additional seating. Missing Years sleeps four comfortably in the large 6' plus V-berth, two large settee berths located in the main cabin, and one quarter berth aft. Cushions are custom and in excellent shape.
Galley is to starboard and equipped with an ice box, double deep stainless steel sinks, and a fully gimbaled alcohol double-burner stove. Additional storage for extended cruising was added. Missing Years has pressure hot/cold water in galley and head.
Full Stowe electronics (wind speed, direction, depth, speed). Plus Standard GPS repeater in cockpit. Ritchie pedestal mounted compass. Garmin 72 \ GPS ( new in 2004). The Orion has 2 Lewmar primaries #40s/t, and 4 secondaries #16s/t, and 1 #8 winches. All rigging is set up for single handing. New staysail traveler rail. All standing rigging replaced (2003) including chain plates. New lead chain for main rode. Eleven bronze opening ports with two Bolmar hatches. Trim includes many teak extras.
Other items of interest:
Recently bottom paint (Pettit Trinidad SR - 2 coats - 2005), buffed and waxed hull and topsides. Interior is in very good condition with custom cushions and newly oiled teak. Entertainment unit added for radio and CD player. Bimini and Dodger are included. PYI Max prop (folding 3 blade), R&D flexible coupler, and engine mounts were added. New canvas for companion-way, hatches (2), mail-sail, and varnished hand rails. Many, many others.
Missing Years is one of the beautiful, most versatile yachts available. She is a rugged world cruiser that is both exciting and comfortable. The Orion's high aspect, well balanced sail plan and cut away forefoot make here easy to handle, fast and responsive while her full keel provides the directional stability and rudder protection that are so crucial to extended to cruising. Bottom line: this boat will take you anywhere in the world you want to go in style and safety!
I love this boat; however, our priorities have changed. I would rather see Missing Years in the hands of someone who will spend more time sailing her.
David, please mark my Pacific Seacraft Orion 27 (Missing Years) as SOLD.
Even though I did not sell her from leads directly from your web site, the
ONLY leads that I did receive were through your web site - EXCELLENT. I did
advertise briefly in Tell Tales magazine and on Boats.com.
Thanks again for your superb service, and I will definitely check your site
for any new lake sailboats I might be interested in.
Thanks again, -kent
