1989 Reichel/Pugh 50
The International Fifty Foot Class saw some of the most competitive racing ever, and Reichel/Pugh designed 50' IOR yachts proved absolutely dominant against what was essentially a fleet of Farr designs.
Jim Andrews' Abracadabra, comfortably won the 1990 World Championship. In 1991 Abracadabra won again, this time skippered by Paul Cayard sailing under the Italian flag. The 1992 World Cup was won by another Reichel/Pugh boat, Mark Morita's Champosa, skippered by Johh Kolius.
